Recipe library · punch list
Everything the recipe cards still need. The step-style rewrite of 2026-07-25 closed most of the formatting and translation work; what is left is almost entirely questions only you can answer. Grouped by what has to happen next, worst first. Nothing here has been guessed — where a number is missing, the issue asks for it.
Oven settings — full bake, half bake, pizza bake, middle of the oven, SLICE temperature — are getting their own Oven Settings page, because they vary by location and oven model. Track them there, not card by card.
Start here — this one unblocks the most cards
“Full bake”, “half bake” (also written “half-bake”), “pizza bake”, “middle of the oven” and “SLICE temperature” are used as if they were specifications on roughly 16 recipe cards, but they are defined nowhere in the manual. The wording shows these are conveyor-oven terms, not missing temperatures: “Run it through the oven — approximately the full bake”, “Send it only halfway through the oven — not a full bake”, “Bake at the middle of the oven”.
NeededTwo things, in this order. FIRST, build a dedicated Oven Settings page — deferred by Josh on 2026-07-25, tracked here as the to-do. It holds a setting per location and per oven model, because the same named setting is not the same belt speed on a different oven in a different store, so this can never live on a recipe card. SECOND, fill it in: belt speed and temperature for each named setting, measured at each location. Recipe cards then say “full bake” and link to the page instead of repeating a number that would go stale. Defining this glossary once resolves the majority of the “no temperature” issues below in a single pass.
A cook cannot execute the card as written — a heat step with no setting, time or doneness cue, an ingredient that appears nowhere, or a card that has never been written. These need an answer from Josh or Jesse.
The three frittatas disagree about which oven they use. Cheese Frittata specifies 400°F — a conventional oven. Greek and Veggie say “3–4 minutes at full bake” — conveyor language. Same dish, three specs.
NeededA decision on which oven frittatas go in, then one shared spec written onto all three cards.
The key step is “Bake the wings.” No setting, no time, no doneness cue.
NeededA time or a doneness cue from Josh or Jesse. This one will NOT be filled in by inference — undercooked chicken is a food-safety matter, not a formatting one.
Two Finishing quantities — fresh scallions and sesame seeds — are still the placeholder “—”. The first step removes baked wings from the oven, but that bake is specified on no card: it depends on Chicken Wings, which is also blank. The slug still reads `kimchi-chicken-wings` while the card is titled Gochujang Wings.
NeededThe two missing quantities for 6 wings, the wing bake spec (shared with Chicken Wings), and a decision on the slug rename — renaming changes the URL.
Both cards end on the same line — “Bake the patties through the oven. DO NOT OVERCOOK.” No time, no temperature, no doneness cue. A cook is told when they have failed, never when they are done.
NeededA time or a positive doneness cue from Josh or Jesse, written onto both cards. Raw sausage — do not infer.
The key step is “Bake the patty.” — no time, no temperature, no doneness cue. This is raw sausage pressed together with bacon, so the only safety signal on the card is the warning’s “fully cooked”.
NeededThe oven setting plus a time or a doneness cue, from Josh or Jesse. Highest-priority bake gap in the library — do not infer.
The key step is “Send it through the oven.” No time, no temperature, and the only doneness cue is the warning’s negative “do not burn it”.
NeededA time or a positive doneness cue from Josh or Jesse. Raw sausage — do not infer.
“Run it through the oven — approximately the full bake” is the whole heat spec: no time, no temperature, no visual cue. Separately, confirm that 7 is still the right nugget count now that it is an ingredient row.
NeededA time or a doneness cue from Josh or Jesse (breaded chicken — do not infer), and a yes/no on the 7-nugget count.
The card now carries a raw-egg warning, but it states no shelf life, no discard-by rule and no holding temperature — only “keep the batch refrigerated at all times”. A cook cannot tell when a batch is too old to serve.
NeededThe date-label / discard-by rule for this batch, and the holding temperature, added to the warning.
The bake step names a setting — “Bake covered on full bake.” — but gives no time, and the warning says “Adjust bake time as needed”, which presumes a baseline nobody has written down. The butter in step 1 has no quantity anywhere on the card, so it could not be listed.
NeededThe baseline bake time, and the butter quantity. (Cheese Frittata uses 1 Tbsp and Greek Frittata 2 Tbsp — this one was not guessed from either.)
The bake step is “Half-bake.” — a house setting with no time and no temperature, and “half bake” is defined nowhere. The bread itself has no quantity or unit anywhere on the card, so the ingredient list holds only the cheese.
NeededThe half-bake time, and the bread spec (a par-bake count, or a portion).
The bake step has a setting and a doneness cue — “middle of the oven, NOT a full bake · bottom crispy, top just starting to turn golden” — but no time at all.
NeededA bake time to go with the setting.
Both cards say to run the item “only halfway through the oven” and both warn that a full bake burns it — but neither gives a time. Grilled Cheese at least has a colour cue; the Hot Dog has none.
NeededA half-bake time for each.
The key step is “Cook through the oven.” — no setting, no time, no doneness cue.
NeededA bake spec.
The key step is “Cook through the oven.” — no setting, no time, no doneness cue.
NeededA bake spec.
The key step names a setting — “pizza bake” with a metal cover — but gives no time and no doneness cue.
NeededA time or a doneness cue.
The key step names a setting — “pizza bake” with a metal cover — but gives no time and no doneness cue.
NeededA time or a doneness cue.
Step 1 mixes the minced garlic into the melted butter. Step 2 puts the knots in tin foil. No step ever puts the garlic butter on the knots — the card bakes them dry.
NeededThe missing action, in your words: are the knots tossed in the garlic butter, or is it brushed on, and does it happen before or after the bake?
“Bake at SLICE temperature until golden brown” is an undefined named setting with no time, and colour is the only doneness cue — backed by a DO NOT BURN warning. The last step, “Cool thoroughly on the pan”, has no cooling time.
NeededThe SLICE setting in °F, a bake time, and a cooling time.
The garlic-infusion step — “Warm the pan through the oven in short passes” — has no temperature and no time, on the exact step the card’s own warning says will kill the batch. The last step says “Cool thoroughly before storing” with no time.
NeededA temperature and a time for the infusion, and a cooling time.
The roast step gives no temperature and no time — only “until the cut faces are deep golden-brown and crisp” and “never a full pizza cycle”. The to-order re-crisp step has no time on any of its three methods (flat-top, salamander, short oven flash). The card’s own changelog admits the roast spec is provisional.
NeededA temperature and a time for the roast, a time for the re-crisp, then drop the provisional note.
A step says “Double the oil quantity on the pans” — there is no oil in the ingredient list to double, so “double” has no baseline.
NeededThe base pan-oil amount for a GF par-bake pan, added to the ingredient list.
The card has no bake step at all. It ends at panning — no oven temperature, no bake time, no doneness cue for the par-bake itself.
NeededThe bake: temperature, time, and how a finished par-bake should look.
Six eggs and the Mexican vanilla are on the ingredient list but used by no step. The bake gives 30 minutes at 350°F with no doneness cue, and the card names no pan size for the greased pan.
NeededThe steps that use the eggs and the vanilla, a doneness cue, and the pan size.
“Sauté the mushrooms.” is the whole spec — no heat level, no time, no doneness cue.
NeededA burner or heat setting, plus a time or a visual cue.
The card carries a full formula and a portion spec, and nothing in between. There is no water temperature, no mix times or speeds, no autolyse or rest, no bulk or cold proof, and no par-bake temperature or time. It goes straight from “set up the scale” to “portion at 311.84 g”.
NeededThe actual mixing and proofing procedure, written out as steps.
The card has no quantities at all — no liquid-egg amount, no butter or oil amount, no tater tot count — and “a heated pan” has no temperature. It stays a draft for that reason.
NeededThe kid-size portion spec, so an ingredient list can exist and the card can publish.
These four assembly cards carry no quantity anywhere, so none of them can show an ingredient list. The prep cards behind them only hold batch weights — Sausage and Bacon needs the per-sandwich egg and cheese-bread spec, Veggie Egg ’n Cheese is missing amounts for gremolata, artichoke, arugula and grated Parmesan, and Paleo Plate has no frittata size, sausage portion or vegetable amounts.
NeededA per-serving spec for each card. Nothing was invented here — every other card in the breakfast set got its list built from figures already written down.
Step 1 says to add “the cheese in the amount that pizza’s own recipe card lists” — the card carries no number of its own.
NeededConfirm the deferral is intended because the amount varies per pizza, or give a default here.
The card has no ingredient list, no yield and no batch size — a cook cannot tell how much kimchi to prep.
NeededThe batch size, and what it yields.
No quantities anywhere — no jar size or weight of cherries, no volume of vodka — and no soak or rest time before the cherries are usable.
NeededThe cherry and vodka amounts, and how long they sit before service.
The card says to decant into 4 oz to-go containers but never says how many one batch makes.
NeededThe batch yield.
No batch yield is stated, and the chill step has no target — no time on ice, no temperature to hit before it goes into storage.
NeededThe batch yield, and the chill target.
The sausage step carries its piece count — “(4 x 4 pieces)” — but the chicken has no equivalent. The count was pulled in v2.0 along with the 70 g scale photo and never replaced.
NeededThe chicken piece count for a 50 g bag.
Four bar cards list a pour as “fill” because no volume exists anywhere on them: the Limonata top-up and the ice on Vodka Tonic, the cola top-up and the ice on Rum & Cola, the ice on Paloma, and the entire tap pour on Seasonal Spritz, which has no measured amount at all.
NeededAn oz figure for each, or a decision that “fill” is the house standard for these and the placeholder stays.
Still a draft stub. The greens, toppings, dressing and portions do not exist anywhere; the only step is “Ask a manager before preparing this item.”
NeededWrite the build, or archive the card.
An idea placeholder with no numbers — no ice cream portion, no hot fudge amount, no glassware, no portion size, no price.
NeededThe real build and its quantities, or archive the card.
An idea placeholder with a test-bake photo and no numbers — no working recipe, no shrimp prep or hold spec, no cheese, no finish, no bake setting or time, no price.
NeededThe working recipe and its quantities, or archive the card.
The card disagrees with itself, with another card, or with its own name. Each needs a decision, not a number.
Step 5 says 550 g per pan × 2 pans = 1,100 g, well under the ingredient totals — and nothing says what to do with the remainder.
NeededConfirm either the per-pan weight or the batch size, and say where the remainder goes.
The card is called Vodka Tonic, but the mixer everywhere on it — subtitle, ingredient list, step — is Limonata soda, not tonic water.
NeededRename the drink, or change the mixer.
The 2/3-versus-whole-bottle conflict was resolved in wording rather than by decision: the ingredient line now reads “12 oz bottle — about 2/3 into the glass, the rest served on the side”. Neither number was changed. The price is also still undecided, and says so in the finish.
NeededConfirm that split is right, and set the price.
Michelada still specifies a 16 oz pint glass, but the shared Bloody Mary build it is made from was deliberately moved to a Collins.
NeededOne glass for both cards.
The build steps and the warning are still word-for-word identical across the two files — only the batch ingredients differ. This cannot be deduplicated in content without a shared card.
NeededConfirm the duplication is acceptable, or say how the two drinks should read differently.
Two batch headings do not match their own rows. Manhattan’s rows sum to 1.81 L against a stated 1.8 L; Old Fashioned’s sum to 1.315 L against a stated 1.3 L. The cards’ own figures were kept and nothing was rounded.
NeededSay which number is right on each card — the heading or the rows.
The Spanish on these five now says “lote” for the prep batch, matching the new “Lote — X L” group heading. They previously said “mezcla”.
NeededConfirm “lote” is the word the bar crew should see, or switch all five back.
Step 1 used to say “combine everything except the oil” while the last step added salt and pepper again. It now reads “everything except the oil, the salt, and the pepper” — the only self-consistent reading, arrived at by deduction rather than by asking.
NeededConfirm salt and pepper really are held back for the last step.
The card jumped from buttering the pan straight to the bake, so “Lay the soaked bread in the pan.” was added between them. No number was involved, but the real sequence was never written down — the bread may go in before the butter.
NeededConfirm the order, or say what the line cook actually does.
Three ingredient rows were derived from step text rather than from a written spec: “1 · Bread” on Kids Grilled Cheese (the steps say “the bread”, singular), and “1 · Hot dog” plus “1 · Hot dog bun” on Kids Hot Dog.
NeededConfirm the three rows, and give the real wording if the bread is a specific par-bake size or SKU.
Side Sausage Prep Patties still ends with “Slice the chicken sausages into chunks for the Paleo Plate.” — a Paleo-Plate-only instruction. Paleo Plate now carries its own version of the same step.
NeededDecide which card owns it, and delete the other.
A photography task, not a content edit. Cards with no usable hero now render a placeholder tile where the photo goes.
These six cards have no photo folder at all — nothing has ever been shot for them.
NeededOne finished-product photo each.
The heroes were deliberately pulled in v2.0 — the 70 g scale photos were wrong and the changelog says they need redoing.
NeededReshoot the scale photos at the correct portion weight.
The source files are too small to fill the card’s photo frame — nine bar heroes are about 292×280 or 300×310, Kids Grilled Cheese is 800×600, Marcona Almonds is 1004×1286. They render small rather than blurry, which is safe but looks thin.
NeededReshoot at full resolution when convenient. Not urgent.
Tall portrait sources letterbox inside the card’s 4:3 photo frame. Acceptable as-is, flagged for eventual reshoot.
NeededReshoot landscape when convenient. Not urgent.
Where information sits on the card, and how the card renders. Fixable in the repo without asking anyone for a number — but each one needs a call on what the right shape is.
Four cards were retagged `type: reference` so they render as standards sheets instead of recipes. ReferenceSheet.astro renders no hero, no heroCaption and no step images — only the checklist, the closing note and the warning. That silently drops six photos: Allergen Strips’ hero plus two step shots, Frico Pizza Edge’s hero plus two step shots and its “The finished frico wall” caption, and Foil Wrap’s three step shots. Every image path is still in the YAML; nothing was lost on disk.
NeededEither give ReferenceSheet a media slot, or move these cards back to `type: recipe`. A call on the renderer, not on the content.
The card is titled “(Plating)” and still has no `finish` field — the plating now reads as six numbered steps. A step also seasons with salt and black pepper, which appear in no ingredient row and have no quantity; every sibling frittata lists “Pinch”.
NeededThe wording for the finish line (how the platter goes out the window), and a yes to adding the “Pinch — salt and pepper” row. Plating geometry was not invented.
Steps 1 and 2 walk through the ingredient list in order — aromatics, then seasoning — without adding a technique or an amount. The content pass deliberately left them, arguing that addition order IS the technique on a sauce that separates.
NeededConfirm the order steps earn their place, or collapse them into the mixing step.
The last two places where English and Spanish still disagree. Lowest priority; no cook is blocked by either.
The subtitle and the bake step write “500°F” in English and “500 °F” in Spanish. It is the last degree-spacing mismatch left in the library.
NeededUse one format.
The Spanish warning shouts “NO es un horneado completo” where the English says plainly “Not a full bake”.
NeededMatch the emphasis in both languages.
Source: the 2026-07-25 read of every non-pizza recipe card, reconciled the same day against the step-style rewrite — every issue removed was verified fixed in the YAML, not taken on trust. Fix a card (bump version, append a changelog entry), then delete its entry from src/data/open-issues.ts — the counts above recompute themselves, and a group that empties out disappears.
